About Our Business
After eight years as a firefighter with the Rayne Volunteer Fire Department, I noticed that the
level of service and follow-through of their fire equipment suppliers left a lot to be desired. After
identifying that other fire departments experienced the same inadequate level of service and
follow-through, I along with my wife Arleen, decided to start Bonaventure Company to sell and
service fire equipment. Armed with the knowledge and experience gained from working in my
family's business, a bachelor's degree in marketing from USL and my firefighting experience, I
began selling fire equipment to municipal fire departments, fire districts and volunteer fire
departments. In recognition of our strong Catholic Christian faith, Arleen and I wanted to name
our new company after a Catholic saint. After much thought and prayer, Saint Bonaventure was
chosen. He was a Franciscan priest who was best known for the tremendous spiritual writings
that he composed, mostly while teaching at the University of Paris. He lived from 1221 to 1274
and was canonized a saint in 1482. The Bonaventure logo reflects this by incorporating a halo
into the design. Bonaventure was also chosen because it means “good fortune,” which we hoped
this venture will become.

Bonaventure Company was started in April of 1993 and incorporated January 1, 1995. We are
wholly owned by the "LeBlanc" family we strive by working tirelessly to achieve strong, steady
growth over the years. Bonaventure began selling apparatus and equipment in 1993. During the
early years I performed most of the service work myself and out would source that which I
could not handle myself. As volume increased, Arleen and I decided to setup a service
department that could better respond to customer demands. In 2000, we hired full-time service
technicians and began repair, modifications, pump tests and installation of new equipment.
Services were performed at our facility in Rayne, Louisiana or on location with one of our mobile
service units. We have worked hard to balance the sales demands with the service capabilities. In
2005 we constructed a 16,000 square foot facility, 9,600 sq ft are in the shop alone. We are now
located in the Crowley/Rayne Industrial park off Highway 90. Since its inception, Bonaventure
Co., strives to be the most ethical, responsive and competitive fire equipment and apparatus
dealer in Louisiana.
